    Humza Yousaf is a Scottish politician and the current First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP), serving since March 2023. He served as the justice secretary from 2018 to 2021 and then as health secretary since 2021. After selected as the First Minister, his fan following also reached its peak.

    Before Fame

    He worked in the SNP’s HQ as a communications officer prior to his election to parliament in 2011. Yousaf served as the minister for external affairs and international development until 2014.


    He was appointed Europe minister before being appointed minister for transport and the islands in 2016 when Sturgeon became his first minister in 2014. As part of the cabinet reshuffle of Sturgeon’s second government in 2018, Yousaf was promoted to the cabinet as the justice secretary.

    Humza Yousaf was born on April 7, 1985, in Glasgow, Scotland. He grew up with his parents Muzaffar Yousaf who was born in Pakistan, and Shaaista Bhutta was born in Nairobi, Kenya. Yousaf attended Mearns Primary School in East Renfrewshire. After finishing college, he opted to study politics at the University of Glasgow.
