Anthony Wade Evans (born May 18, 1974), known professionally as Devine Evans, is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and film composer. Evans has composed live musical arrangements with globally recognized music director Adam Blackstone and played in performances with a star-studded list of clientele that includes Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem, Nick Jonas, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Ariana Grande, Keri Hilson, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Weeknd, Ne-Yo, Selena Gomez, Outkast, TLC, Camilla Cabello, Maroon 5, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Jennifer Lopez, and Bruno Mars.

Early Years

Devine Evans was born May 18, 1974, in Lubbock, Texas. In his teenage years, he found a lasting influence from the local music scene. He got his start in Atlanta, Georgia at Left Eye Productions, headed by Lisa Lopes of TLC.

Career

Devine Evans is best known for his musical arrangements for artists Rihanna, Pharrell, Ella Mai, Cardi B, Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, and Justin Timberlake.

In 2012, Evans was the sound designer for pop superstar Rihanna on her 777 Tour, which involved playing in 7 countries in 7 consecutive days.

As a composer, he is credited for Lycan, The New Edition Story, Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids, Super Bowl LII Halftime Show, and The Four: Battle for Stardom. Professionally, as a sound designer, Evans has worked on Rihanna 777 Tour, Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show, Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, and seasons 1, 2, and 3 of the Savage X Fenty Show. In 2023, alongside The Roots’ Questlove, he composed and arranged the 50th Hip Hop Celebration for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.

When Evans isn’t working with A-list artists, he runs his own company entitled Black Dynasty Media. The company features several up-and-coming pops and R&B acts. Founded in 2021, it functions as a branding agency for upcoming artists. As a Grammy Award winner, Evans has established a reputation for Black Dynasty Media for putting on premiere Grammy Week celebration events.

Personal Life

Devine Evans married his best friend and musical partner Day’nah Cooper on August 11, 2017, at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Simi Valley, Ca. Together they have formed a blended family raising a single daughter Skyler Evans.
