About
Cameron Gibson is a Scottish Magician and Mentalist from Edinburgh, Scotland. He is known for his stage mind-reading performances, being the lead magician on the immersive magic experiences Illusionarium, Toronto, and Magic Immersive Chicago; and his regular performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – the largest arts festival in the world.
Early Life
Cameron Gibson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in the village of Colinton. He attended Bonaly Primary School from age 5 through 9 at which point he transferred to Stewart’s Melville College, an independent school run by the Merchant Company of Edinburgh.
His interest in magic began here at around age 17, where he became the youngest member in the recent history of the Edinburgh Magic Circle
Upon completing the sixth form at high school, Gibson moved to Glasgow in order to study Mechanical engineering at the University of Glasgow but was largely known throughout his time there for performing magic – due in part to his involvement with Glasgow University Union’s Entertainments Committee.
Performing Career
University
Throughout his time at university, Gibson performed at countless corporate, charity, and student events as well as at regular open mic appearances across the city, cementing himself in the culture of live entertainment there.
Beginnings
In 2017 and upon completing university, Cameron Gibson spent a brief few months working in Salou, (Catalonia, Spain) at the House Of Illusion; after which he returned to Glasgow to become a resident performer at the world-famous Wild Cabaret.
In 2018, he began a role as a professional motivational and engaging speaker with Tree Of Knowledge. Here he spent 2 years going into schools and delivering entertaining presentations and workshops to over 15,000 students over 500 individual sessions.
Lighthouse Immersive
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he left Tree Of Knowledge and was picked up by Jamie Allan (magician) to be the lead magician on a groundbreaking new project based in Toronto, Canada called “Illusionarium”. This was the first of its kind as an immersive magic experience rather than just a show; taking audiences through the history of magic in a series of small theatres that showcased every form of magic in its own individual and immersive space.
From there, Gibson traveled with Allan to Chicago, Illinois in 2022 where they converted the Illusionarium concept into a new show; “Magic Immersive” – A magic show in 180 degrees. This show was another original concept in which the audience was in the middle of the room and surrounded by stages where the magic would happen all around them.
Cameron Gibson is now traveling and producing shows all across the UK and North America and has been seen on CHCH This Morning, CTV, CityNews, CP24.
